Summer's last stand

A great summer winded down (symbollically, anyway) at the wood-panelled, 1970's treasure house that is the Galston cottage at Hillside Beach...

We got there early...

But eventually everyone else showed up, too...

James entertains the crowds by trying on: Grandpa's cap; Great Uncle Jack's ground sheet/poncho he used while serving in Eruope during World War II; Mom's orange rubber klompens...

Autumn was lurking in the air, but it was still warm enough to go down to the beach and bury Kevin in the sand...

Of course, the oh-so-photogenic new generation was there...

Product placement...

Sadie tried on Uncle James' pair of aviators...

Sadie sits at the steps of the same deck her Dad did over twenty years ago...

Back in business

We're able to upload pictures again...
Sadie and Dad get serious...
Jumping is still Sadie's favorite pastime...
One of the best things about Winnipeg is the superabundance of quaint little hair salons everywhere...
Helping out with the harvest on the farm, Sadie, Mom and Grandma came out with supper...

We stopped by the Galston house in Portage. Dad and James are texting eachother in this picture while Kevin wonders where he misplaced his blackberry. lol ;) ttyl!...
Sadie takes here jumper everywhere, even to Portage...
Miriam and Kevin were both coming down with a case of itchy faces...
I went to the Windmill Cafe on Selkirk Avenue the other day, a great little diner where scenes from 'Capote' and 'Shall We Dance' were filmed...
Sadie is really into carrots...

Dear faithful viewers:

For the past few days, I've been unable to upload pictures onto the blog; Safari shuts down every time I try. Hopefully we can get pictures back up soon.

Sadie is still cute.

Today is our second anniversary...

Sadie's cousin Dominic came by for a visit this week...

Sadie is all about eating these days...

Winnipeg at its most European...

And this evening, we walked through quaint old St. Boniface, where, 26 years after the paper was closed, this house still has a Winnipeg Tribune box...
