Summer's last stand

A great summer winded down (symbollically, anyway) at the wood-panelled, 1970's treasure house that is the Galston cottage at Hillside Beach...

We got there early...

But eventually everyone else showed up, too...

James entertains the crowds by trying on: Grandpa's cap; Great Uncle Jack's ground sheet/poncho he used while serving in Eruope during World War II; Mom's orange rubber klompens...

Autumn was lurking in the air, but it was still warm enough to go down to the beach and bury Kevin in the sand...

Of course, the oh-so-photogenic new generation was there...

Product placement...

Sadie tried on Uncle James' pair of aviators...

Sadie sits at the steps of the same deck her Dad did over twenty years ago...

Looks like some good family times. I LOVE the picture of Sadie on the floor with the huge grin - what a cutie-pants!
